Overview:
Our client is seeking a strong Java Developer to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. The candidate will be expected to participate in all phases of the software development cycle and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have to design, develop, and maintain software applications that are used to automate Back Office, Accounting, Treasury, and Compliance operations of the firm. The tasks involved in this process may include:- web-based GUIs using Java/J2EE on Linux platform
- database design and development using UML and Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL)
- reporting applications using Java and Perl/ksh/Bash/Python
- parsers for vendor data in CSV, XML, FIXML or SWIFT MT (ISO 15022) formats
- shell scripts using Perl/Ksh/Bash/Python
Qualifications:
Required:- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Minimum 3 years of programming experience in Java/J2EE on UNIX/Linux
- Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts and UML
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Independent, self-motivated, and detail oriented
Desirable:
- Familiarity with RDBMS, preferably Oracle
- Experience with XML, FIXML, and SWIFT messaging
- Knowledge of financial instruments
- Experience with IDE like Eclipse and Continuous Integration
